Our Philosophy at Abacus School of Austin
A single belief forms the heart of our philosophy at Abacus School of Austin: early childhood education should be exciting for the children.
Each day should be a fun educational journey. Our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre K and Kindergarten programs focus on your child’s social, emotional and intellectual needs, encouraging exploration and growth in a well-equipped environment that is stimulating, safe, consistent and nurturing.
Every day, we strive to encourage your child’s natural curiosity and to instill in them a life-long love of learning.
For that reason, our facility has been designed to encourage movement. Children are never stuck in a single room all day. They go from their classroom to art, to the gymnasium, to the library and computer lab. Inside. Outside. Up and Down. At an early age, children enjoy (and need) variety. Not only does this allow us to make each day a real adventure, but it prepares Abacus students for the structure of elementary school.
Working closely with parents and providing exemplary communication is just as essential to our philosophy. We invite parents to be part of our community, visit the school at any time, and join us for our parenting classes.
As the old saying goes, “it takes a village…”
Our Early Childhood Education Curriculum
Specific curricula vary by age level (infant/toddler, preschool, pre k and kindergarten), but across all programs our curricula are theme-based. Each week includes a variety of early childhood education activities centered around that theme, with a primary focus on virtues like respect and compassion, colors, math, science, social studies, and language development.
